Basic Matcha Tea
  • 1-2 grams ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 75-100 ml hot water 75–80°C, not boiling

Matcha Latte Option
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond, oat, or cow’s milk

Equipment

  • Chawan (Tea Bowl)
  • Chasen (Bamboo Whisk)

Method

  1. Sift 1–2 grams of matcha powder into a pre-warmed bowl. Add a splash of cold water and whisk with a bamboo whisk to form a smooth paste.
  2. Pour in hot water or warmed milk. Whisk in a 'W' motion until a rich froth forms on the surface.
  3. Serve immediately. For an iced version, pour over ice cubes. Enjoy hot or cold.

Notes

Try matcha plain for weight loss, or customize with milk, vanilla, or spices for a creamy, comforting twist. Store matcha powder in a cool, dark place and consume brewed tea fresh for best taste and nutrients.
