- Sift 1/2 tsp matcha powder into a matcha bowl or mug using a fine mesh sieve to remove clumps.

- Pour 1/4 cup of hot water (150–175°F) into the bowl. Whisk vigorously in a “W” or “M” motion for 20–30 seconds until a frothy layer forms.

- Add the remaining 1 cup of hot water or steamed milk. Stir gently to combine.

- Sweeten with honey, maple syrup, or preferred sweetener if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes
For an iced version, pour the prepared matcha over ice. You can customize this recipe with spices like cinnamon or turmeric, or turn it into a latte using plant-based milk. Always store matcha powder in an airtight container, away from heat and light, for maximum freshness.
