Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sea salt fine or coarse; substitute with Himalayan pink salt for added minerals and color
  • 1 tbsp matcha green tea powder ceremonial grade recommended; increase to 1½ tbsp for stronger flavor

Equipment

  • Glass Jar with Lid

Method

  1. Place the sea salt and matcha powder in a clean, dry glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Sift matcha first if clumpy.
  2. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 1–2 minutes until evenly blended and pale green in color.
  3. Taste and adjust: for a stronger matcha flavor, reduce salt to 1/4 cup and increase matcha to 2 tbsp.
  4. Store in an airtight container away from sunlight, heat, and moisture. Shelf life: up to 3 months.

Notes

Try variations: add cayenne or smoked paprika for spiced matcha salt, lemon zest for citrus lift, or coconut sugar for sweet-savory balance. Perfect on avocado toast, popcorn, roasted vegetables, grilled fish, or even desserts. Makes a great homemade gift in mini jars.
